This great short tour features the presentation of "The Witnesses" at Virginia's famous Barter Theatre.Through
music and story telling, we will witness the birth of the Christian church as seen through the eyes of Peter and Paul. Talented musicians, singers and story tellers share the first person
experiences of the dangers and wonders that comprised life in the first century and showcases the incredible faith and perseverance that became the cornerstones of the Christian church.
On the way to Abingdon, we will pay a short visit to the "Birthplace of Country Music Museum". Here, you will find exhibits and memorabilia of the recording sessions which
have become known as the Big Bang of Country Music where the world was introduced to such country music pioneers as the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers and Pop Stoneman.
Also scheduled
are visits to White's Mill in Abingdon. Since the late 18th century, the mill provided meal and flour for the farm and kitchen. Careful, loving restoration has returned the mill to work and a
visit here offers an interesting look into another time. We will visit the Mercantile here to view the works of over 100 local artisans.
Before returning home, we will stop off at Dixie
Pottery in Abingdon to look through the 100,000 square feet loaded with stoneware, bone china, lead crystal and much more.
